New Job, Drama is behind me
Once again, I have neglected the hell out of this blog.
Reasons for doing so included the fact that I did not desire to reveal too much about my life to enemies at the time… yes, I have enemies, how cool is that?
Anyways… I picked up a job at a completely awesome company which fits my lifestyle like a glove and I work with excellent people. The hunt was long and tiring, but I managed to go contractor and then eventually move to a salaried position which I am very much enjoying. Not the ballpark that I was expecting when I first came back from China, however it is good enough for me.
Drama Summary:
1) The place I was staying in was owned by a crazy cunt of a woman who fears soap, microwaves, carpet, and paying mortgages. A horrible scamstress who was attempting to milk me for more. I hightailed it out of that situation the moment I got the chance. In the middle of the night too. It was amazing.
2) The new place I moved into seemed to be ok, at least on the surface… until the horrible horrible truth was revealed that I was living with a pair of serious alcoholics who did other things as well. It did not end well, that’s the most I can say about that.
3) This led me to my current abode. Paying $350 a month in a very nice Chinese neighborhood in LA, and Chinese roommates who are actually trustworthy and cool to hang out with. My own room, which I have semi-converted into what is essentially an office with a bed and there is an actual place to park, not a carport which leaves me trapped when someone decides to get too drunk to go to work. All of these are good things.
I have also managed to buy myself a car, it’s a 2000 VW 2.0 Jetta. Not the best car ever made, but it DID manage to drive me to Chicago and back for X-mas. 4300 miles round trip is an awesome experience, driving essentially the entire Route 66 makes it even cooler. The trip was a complete surprise to the family and it was worth every mile of driving to do it. Part of me really didn’t want to leave, but fortunately I left enough crap back in LA that I did have to drive back eventually, catching another miraculous break in the weather to accomplish it.
Goals for this year include:
Getting my ass back to China. The US is starting to grow on me a bit, but it’s still annoying and I miss my old life back in the motherland. Our Senior VP has ran off to Shanghai, and I am greatly looking forward to starting a branch office in Beijing to complement it. I have tons of contacts and am just dying to hit them up for business again and show them what a *real* company is capable of delivering to them.
So… yea… this has been a short pathetic little post that should have been longer, but it wasn’t. There is probably tons of drama I have glanced over, but it’s not really worth the effort anymore to bitch about it.
